DeMarcus Cousins scored his 31st double-double of the season and 18th in last 19 games he has played in. It was also his 30th 20-point game of the season. Although finishing with 31 points and 16 rebounds, Cousins admitted to being a little distracted during the Kings 98-89 loss to the Celtics and shouldered the blame.
Cousins explained to the Sacramento Bee’s Jason Jones:
“Lot of mistakes,” Cousins said. “Tough loss. I don’t think I came in focused, either. There were some outside things distracting me … so I blame myself for tonight’s loss.”
It was announced earlier that Anthony Davis would replace the injured Kobe Bryant on the Western Conference All-Star team. Cousins would not say what caused him to be distracted, but he sent out this tweet yesterday:
Politics …ha!

Only 4 players in the NBA are averaging 20 points and 10 rebounds. Three of them will be playing in the All-Star Game. DeMarcus Cousins is the only one excluded, averaging 22.9 points and 11.7 rebounds per game.
