Hall of Famer Bill Walton sadly passed away over the weekend after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Walton was an all-time great player at UCLA and had a long career in the NBA. In recent years, he was best known as giving life to late-night basketball games on ESPN.
ESPN has put together a tribute video for Walton:
There will never be another quite like Bill Walton.

Some more great memories of Bill Walton:
.@DavePasch laughing so hard has me dying rewatching this. Just so good and nuts. pic.twitter.com/imnwq6xWz3

“Chewybacca is modeled after me.”
– Bill Walton, with a patented, impromptu, made-up answer. Paired with Dave Pasch last February, in their final game together, there’s a perfect blend of incomparable chemistry & Bill’s playfully dope go-with-it invention.pic.twitter.com/XokazwdkYo— Dinn Mann (@mooseoutfront) May 27, 2024
Bill would text me during games I was broadcasting, and pretend he didn’t know I was doing it, but ask if I was watching pic.twitter.com/p9DuiufCFA

My favorite Bill Walton clip. Makes a comparison to if the Russians invaded us, then ESPN cuts off his mic and Dave Pasch carries on like nothing happened pic.twitter.com/lNGOJyyT4D
