Chane Behanan, who was let go by the Louisville Basketball program, has told ESPN.com that he will go to John Lucas and join his drug and alcohol treatment program.
This from Jeff Goodman of ESPN.com:
Chane Behanan, who was dismissed from the Louisville program earlier this week, told ESPN.com he plans to head to Houston to work with former NBA player and coach John Lucas.
“I’m hoping to go down there, take care of myself and then hopefully get another opportunity — wherever it may be,” Behanan said Thursday morning. “I haven’t decided what I’m going to do yet. First I’m going to go get help.”
Lucas runs a drug and alcohol treatment program for athletes and coaches. He’s worked with NFL player Tyrann Mathieu, former Kentucky and Texas Tech coach Billy Gillispie, Colorado State coach Larry Eustachy, ex-Rutgers coach Mike Rice and Texas Southern player Aaric Murray on a variety of issues. Behanan did not reveal what problem he needs to address.
Behanan has received a lot of interest of other division 1 schools already, but cannot transfer to any schools in the AAC or ACC.
Maybe the kid will get his life straightened out and back on the floor somewhere.
