Rajon Rondo has always been somewhat of an enigma and no stranger to issues with coaches. It has been widely reported that he and former Kentucky Coach Tubby Smith didn’t always see eye-to-eye. Even UK fans have not always embraced him the same way they have other former Cats. Celtics co-owner Wyc Grousbeck confirmed recently what many have long-suspected.
From Sporting News:
“He’s super stubborn,” Grousbeck said. “I don’t know how coachable he really is.
“I know if you ask [former, long-time head coach] Doc [Rivers], ‘Was he the most coachable guy, or in the top half, 50 percent,’ he’d say, ‘No, he’s in the bottom 50 percent of being coachable.'” Grousbeck continued. “It’s hard with him.”
Although Rondo may be difficult, Grousbeck would like to see him remain in Boston:
“He’s a gamer, he’s a competitor, and he’s got world-class talent.”
