In a game where the first half was as miserable as getting a tooth pulled, and the freshman were the only players on the floor for Kentucky, saw the Kentucky Wildcats lose to the Ole Miss Rebels 71-69.
Kentucky had a 1 point lead with 14 seconds left, but gave up a 23 footer to Chris Warren to seal the deal for the 14-8 Ole Miss.
Terrence Jones led the Cats in scoring with 22 points, but it was Brandon Knight who brought the team back when they needed it most.
Brandon went on a personal 10-0 run to get the Cats back within striking distance as they trailed by 9 with under 4 to play. Knight finished up with 15pts, 7 rebounds and 4 assist. Knight also had 6 turnovers.
Doron Lamb was very clutch in the 2nd half as he hit several big shots. Lamb finished 8-13 from the field, 2-3 from the three, and finished with 20.
The biggest question I have in this game is where was Darius Miller? Miller caused a shot clock violation late in the game, and at times I didn’t know he was even on the floor. Darius was 1-4 from the field for a miscule 3 points. The rest of his line pretty unreal. He had 1 rebound, 1 assist, and 4 turnovers.
Not to be left out, but DeAndre Liggins was also nonexistent. All I remember him doing is shooting a bad 3 late in the game. Chris Warren finished with 22 points and he definitely won the matchup vs. Liggins. Liggins finished with 5 points.
This is a huge loss for Kentucky. This really makes me question if we have any shot to beat Vandy, Tennessee, or Florida on the road.
