I had a chance to talk with three-star defensive tackle and 2014 commit Adrian Middleton last night, and he said his senior season is going great so far. South Warren is off to a 4-0 start with four shutouts. Middleton’s stats are impressive through four games, he has 15 tackles, 5 sacks, 4 tackles for loss, 2 forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery.
Middleton, 6’4″ 275 pounds, says the environment and excitement around the program is one of the reasons he chose Kentucky, but mostly he likes the new coaching staff and wants to be a part of the class that helps change the mentality of the program. “We want to make it a football school too” Adrian said.
Middleton said he was able to attend the Kentucky vs. Louisville game last Saturday. “It was a really good game, defensively they looked really good, but offensively they had too many dropped passes” Middleton added.
When do you plan to make an official visit to Kentucky? “After my high school season. That’s why I committed early, so I could concentrate on my high school season.”
Middleton says he is solid in his commitment with Kentucky and will not visit any more schools. He said he has no contact with other schools, just receives some mail here and there.
December 14th is going to be a big recruiting weekend for Kentucky with a lot of the 2014 commits being on campus, so maybe Middleton will use his official visit then. I know Matt Elam is scheduled to visit that weekend, and I asked Adrian if he thought Elam would be a cat? “I think so, he is really good friends with all the recruits.”
South Warren plays at Hart County tonight at 7 PM, so if you can go watch Adrian play.
