Canada and the United States both advanced to the FIBA World Cup quarterfinals over the weekend.
Led by 30 points from former Kentucky star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the Canadians won a hard-fought 88-85 battle over Spain. The win sends Canada to the quarterfinals and clinched a spot at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The Canadians will face Slovenia on Wednesday in the playoffs.

The Americans suffered a disappointing 110-104 loss to Lithuania early Sunday morning. Fortunately, Team USA still advances to the quarterfinals for a showdown against Italy.
If the United States defeats the Italians, they will face the winner of Germany vs. Latvia in the semifinals.
