According to CBSSports.com Auburn University has hired former Tennessee coach Bruce Pearl to replace the recently fired Tony Barbee as the new men’s basketball coach.
Auburn has hired Bruce Pearl to be its new men’s basketball coach, a source told CBSSports.com on Tuesday.
The school subsequently announced the hiring.
“I’m humbled and blessed to be back in the game that I love,” Pearl said. “I don’t know how long it will take, but it’s time to rebuild the Auburn basketball program, and bring it to a level of excellence so many of the other teams on campus enjoy.”
This is a good hire for Auburn and for the SEC. Pearl will be good for the conference and have Auburn competing in no time.
