Illinois head coach Brad Underwood thinks it’s ridiculous that the transfer portal is open during the NCAA Tournament.
Underwood noted that he was literally making recruiting calls in the hallway at the arena as his team was preparing for an Elite Eight game.
“It’s the most absurd thing in the history of sport,” Underwood said. “This is ridiculous. I’ve got one coach scouting and two just living in the portal. I’m making recruiting calls up and down this hallway right here as we’re preparing for an Elite 8 game.”
