Kentucky had No. 9 Alabama on the ropes late in the second half but the Wildcats (5-10, 3-4 SEC) failed to close out the game and ended up losing 70-59.
Leading 54-52 with 3:32 to go, Isiah Jackson committed a foul near midcourt. On the other end, Brandon Boston lost the ball in the paint, leading to a Crimson Tide layup on the other end. Trailing 56-54, John Calipari called a timeout.
From there, the Crimson Tide (14-3, 9-0) out-scored Kentucky 14-5 to seal the victory and hand the Wildcats yet another disappointing loss.
Davion Mintz, Olivier Sarr and Dontaie Allen led Kentucky with 12 points each.
