The NCAA has informed Bellarmine this morning that the men’s basketball team will not be able to compete in the Postseason NIT, either.
The Knights, which won the ASUN Tournament, is ineligible to participate in the NCAA Tournament as well due to the rules associated with transitioning from Division II to Division I.

Sources: Bellarmine — which won the ASUN Tournament — but was not eligible for the NCAA Tournament because it recently transitioned from Division II to Division 1, was informed this morning that it is ineligible to play in the Postseason NIT.

Theoretically, unless the NCAA decides to screw this current group of coaches and players even more, the team should be eligible to compete in other postseason tournaments (such as the CBI or CIT).
