Athletic director Mitch Barnhart has announced that there will be no public alcohol sales at any University of Kentucky athletic events during the 2019-20 season.
Here is his announcement:
“We have decided to not have public alcohol sales at any UK athletic events during the 2019-20 season,” Barnhart said. “It is our goal, as well as our responsibility, to create a safe, secure, positive, engaging environment for fans of all ages and from all walks of life. We believe we have an outstanding college fan experience at our games; though we recognize we can always find ways to do better, we’re also careful about what we have currently in place.”
I like Mitch Barnhart but his stance on alcohol is totally hypocritical
They already sell alcohol at UK games to rich people in suites
He should say “my decision is not to sell alcohol unless you have a lot of money”

Whether he likes it or not, Mitch Barnhart, one of the best athletic directors in the country, no doubt pissed off a massive segment of his fan base with this decision, because the bottom line is it’ll be perceived as:
Rich fans can be trusted to drink, average fans cannot. https://t.co/A5S7jULspO

It’s absolutely ridiculous and his BS non-answer is a coward move. No UK football games for me this year.
