The Ballard Bruins, who had lost 2 key members to other team by way of transfer, have gained a transfer of their own.
Jason Frakes of the Courier Journal is reporting that Anthony Eaves is now a Bruin.
Bruins coach Chris Renner confirmed Tuesday that Anthony Eaves — a 6-foot-1 senior guard — has transferred into the program. Eaves is the son of Jerry Eaves, a Ballard grad who was the point guard on the University of Louisville’s 1980 championship team and most recently was the head coach at North Carolina A&T.
“Jerry is moving back to Louisville and doing some radio stuff and is in the Ballard district,” Renner said.
Anthony Eaves averaged 16.2 points per game at Greensboro (N.C.) Page High School last season and shot 46.5 percent (81 of 174) from 3-point range. Renner said Eaves is being recruited by Morehead State, Tennessee Tech, Ball State and Washington State.
“He’ll end up signing with a Division I school,” Renner said. “He’s a combo guard who can play both the point and the two.”
