Goodman and Parrish put there heads together again for CBS Sports (and the hollow clanging sound can be heard across the nation) to come up with an updated list of the top candidates for Player of the Year. This week Anthony Davis moves up to #2, here is what they had to say about AD.
His numbers aren‘t what makes him so effective. There‘s no one like Davis in the country in terms of affecting the game on the defensive end. He had 22 points, eight rebounds and eight blocks in a win against South Carolina and finished with 16 points, six rebounds and four blocks in the rout over Florida in Lexington.
I don’t even know what to say at this point, these guys are slow. Not physically, but like when you were in elementary school and there was that kid that ate glue. Davis is PO-Everything. I mean, their notes on why Robinson is #1 could be used as reasoning for him not to be…
Robinson went for 25 points and 13 boards in the loss at Missouri, but didn‘t touch the ball on the final couple possessions.
Basically that says to me that TRob is a stat stuffer and isn’t there when his team needs him to come through. Davis on the other hand, well, ask UNC’s big man what he thinks…
In other news, MKG holds steady at #7 on the list.
