Another NBA Scout Offers Up His Opinion of Kentucky’s Skal Labissiere

Kyle Tucker of the Courier-Journal has spoken to his own NBA scout and he had a lot of nicer things to say about Kentucky freshman Skal Labissiere than did the scout that hammered him via Adam Zagoria.

Here is an excerpt:

“He obviously is not playing well, but my thing with all that is: It’s not his fault that people had him rated in the top five in the preseason,” the scout said. “If he went to a small school in Wisconsin and was under-recruited, no one would know about him and they’d be very excited about his future. So I think it’s unfair to the kid, but that’s the world we live in.

“He’s still 6-11 and is long and athletic and can shoot the ball and block shots. If the draft were today, I still think he’d be a first-round pick on potential. What I saw at the combine was pretty impressive. Now, he will need strength and toughness, but there is no better person to give that to him than John Calipari.”

The NBA scout also gave his opinion of the scout that slammed Skal and you can read those by clicking here.
