Every one is looking forward to the huge matchup of Kentucky and Michigan State in the Champions Classic, but the Michigan State Spartans aren’t allowed to talk about it.
Adreian Payne had this quote when reporters began to ask the players about the matchup with Kentucky before their opener with McNeese State.
At the start of his interview, Payne laughed and offered a warning as he saw a television camera approach, saying, “I can’t talk about Kentucky on air because it’s going to be a cuss word.”
One reporter who hadn’t heard Payne earlier asked the player about Kentucky coach John Calipari having once flown by helicopter to recruit him, and the big man proceeded to make good on his promise.
“Not right now because Coach (Tom Izzo) said we’re not allowed to talk about…we’re not allowed to talk about Kentucky,” Payne said, adding in an expletive while smiling.
Michigan State will be a great matchup for the young Wildcats and everyone is looking forward to that awesome matchup of the two top teams in the country.
I don’t blame Payne for not wanting to talk about Kentucky, but it sure sounds like he did to me.
