Kyle Wiltjer and Shubazz Muhammad both impressed while playing in the Les Schwab Invitational this past week. Hoopniks.com gave high praise for both:
[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]
Kyle Wiltjer, Jesuit – In his final LSI tournament, Wiltjer impressed on his way in leading Jesuit to third place. He was third in scoring (23.8 ppg), second in rebounding (9.3 rpg), and third in blocked shots (2.3 bpg). He did everything to put his team in the best position to win, and even had some dazzling passes to set up teammates. He didn’t shoot the ball as well as he has in the past, but his stroke looks textbook. Amazing basketball IQ and ability to do everything well on the court.
Shabazz Muhammad, Bishop Gorman – Shabazz probably had the most hype and greatest expectations of any player coming into this year’s tournament. He largely appeared a jump shooter the majority of the time and resorted to using his lefty jump hook around the basket. Despite failing to be aggressive for much of the tournament, flashes of potential shown through in a big way. He can score in spurts and get hot quickly. ‘Bazz had some nice highlight dunks throughout the tournament, and expect to hear his name as one of the premier guards in the coming years.
