Will Cobb and Trevathan Declare for NFL Draft?

With the 2010 football season over for the Kentucky Wildcats, there are really only two questions to ask. Will Randall Cobb or Danny Trevathan enter the NFL draft and will the Kentucky Wildcats put something together this summer to ensure a better season in 2011? We’ll have to wait and see regarding the 2011 season but the decision for Cobb and Trevathan has to come soon.[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]

Ironically, the decisions that juniors Randall Cobb and Danny Trevathan make will have an impact, a major impact, on the answer regarding the 2011 season. Cobb is the leader and most versatile player on the offense. Trevathan is the leader on the defense. If they both opt for the 2011 NFL draft, Kentucky will suffer huge losses.

Cobb is the fifth player in Kentucky history to reach 1,000 receiving yards. Trevathan extended his streak of double-digit tackles to nine games with 14 stops in Saturday’s 27-10 loss to Pittsburgh in the BBVA Compass Bowl.

The decision for Cobb and Trevathan will have to be made this week. Early entrants for the NFL must declare in January for the draft which takes place in April. Although fans will hope for loyalty to the program, the players will have to balance the risk of injury with the fame and fortune of the NFL.
