Wildcats Snubbed in First AnnArbor.com Player of the Year Poll

The first AnnArbor.com Player of the Year Poll has been conducted and Kemba Walker is the early favorite to win college basketball’s Player of the Year Award.

There are no representatives from the University of Kentucky.

The AnnArbor.com poll is conducted on fifty-five journalists, who also server as voting members on other various college basketball player of the year award. Each voter lists three players. First-place votes are worth three point, a second-place vote is worth two points and a third-place vote is worth one.

In the first poll, Walker leads the way with 125 total points, followed by Ohio State’s Jared Sullinger with 85.

Jimmer Fredette is third with 56 votes and Duke’s Nolan Smith and Kyle Singler round out the top five.

In the past, the poll has been a remarkably accurate indicator of who will win.
