It wasn’t long ago that Troy Williams was going to make his college announcement via twitter.
His top 2 schools are Kentucky and North Carolina and recently Williams said he was going to pick Kentucky because he was most comfortable with Coach John Calipari.
Kentucky analysts have speculated that maybe another recruit, James Young, might have caused Calipari to tell Troy to hold off. Williams has also struggled a little bit this summer which also added to the thought that Kentucky wanted to evaluate him more.
A North Carolina website thinks Troy’s uncle, Boo Williams, has told him to hold off because he wants him to be a Tarheel.
It’s obvious Boo is the reason Troy has yet to commit to the Wildcats. Troy has stated that Calipari is the coach he gets along with the most, the most important fact per Troy himself in this process. Boo wants him at Carolina, Troy, at least leading up till May 1st wanted to be a Wildcat.

The PR twist Boo seems to have finally put into play here is the adding of the teams. That at least takes some attention away from the facts. Putting other teams in the mix makes it seem like Troy wants to look at the whole process again before making a final decision. When in reality, this is UNC vs UK and always has been. Who’s going to win and end up with one of the most talked about recruits in the 2013 class? It’s anyone’s guess, teenagers change their minds like underwear. This thing could go either way.

It seems like there is always some type of drama with a Kentucky recruit, examples being Terrence Jones, Trevor Lacey, and Anthony Davis.
It will be interesting to see how this one ends up.
