What would it take?

Just what would it take? A championship? Not winning a championship? A team commitment? Just what would it take for John Wall, DeMarcus Cousins and/or Patrick Patterson to come back for another year at Kentucky? Before we explore some possibilities, keep in mind that none of them have ruled out the possibility of returning for another season.

[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]Each of these three fabulous players are going to make a lot of money in the NBA and will become instant superstars. Money and fame are difficult to pass up, even if it is just for a year. We have heard on a few occasions that they wouldn’t make any decisions until the end of the year. Is that because they want to let the fans believe that they are sincerely focused on the task at hand as Wildcats or is it that they truly won’t make a decision until they see if they achieve goals they have set?

Not winning the championship: This is the obvious one and the one that probably has the most bearing on a return. If the Wildcats do not win the NCAA would they return to see if an additional year of knowledge and maturity would take them to the top?

Winning the championship: It’s not as obvious, but perhaps winning a championship would bring them back for another year to see if they could repeat. The only thing better than being a POY candidate and winning the NCAA tournament would be being the POY and winning back to back NCAA championships.

Maybe, just maybe…
