Weekly Recruiting Round-Up (April 10th)


Today and this week has been huge for Kentucky recruiting and the future of the program.

A couple of targets committed, and others were on visits.

Here is a look at what happened…

[*]Braeden Anderson ’11 committed to Kansas Sunday morning, confirmed by Anthony Wireman and Garrett Tucker.
[*]JUCO standout Stan Simpson committed to Memphis Sunday afternoon before returning home from his visit, first reported by Scott Anderson; he will sign his Letter of Intent Wednesday.
[*]Scott Anderson also spoke with God’s Gift Achiuwa’s coach he said that God’s gift will be visiting Washington next weekend; he visited Cincinnati this weekend; the coach also said that Kentucky is staying in contact with the power forward, with the latest coming last week.
[*]Stacy Wilson, a wing out of Coffeyville Community College, just verbally committed to Murray State, per Evan Daniels.
[*]Louisville assistant Steve Masiello will replace Barry Rohrssen at Manhattan, sources told FOXSports.com.
[*]Wes Washpun gave Cuonzo Martin his first commitment as coach of the Tennessee Volunteers.
[*]Miami may name coach soon, names: Mike Davis, Billy Kennedy, Tommy Amaker, Chris Mooney, Jeff Capel and John Pelphrey (via Miami Herald).
[*]Garrett Jones has committed to New Hampshire per AAU coach Mike Weinstein.
[*]The Tilton stars Nerlens Noel ’13 and Wayne Selby ’14 received offers from Kentucky this week.
[*][B]Shabazz Muhammad[/B]: “Duke, UK, KU, Texas, UNC, and UCLA are recruiting me the hardest.”
[*]JUCO Sam Grooms will sign with Oklahoma, according to his head coach.
[*]JUCO PG Pierre Jackson has committed to Baylor.
[*]Otto Porter took a visit to Georgetown this weekend.
[*]2011 center Desmond Hubert of New Egypt (NJ) is returning home, uncommitted, after his official visit to North Carolina.
