Wayne Turner Inducted into His High School’s Hall of Fame

Kentucky student assistant coach Wayne Turner was honored yesterday at Beaver Country Day High School and inducted into their Hall of Fame:

Beaver Country Day School is proud to announce its inaugural Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Saturday.

Wayne Turner ’95, perhaps the most heralded boys’ high school basketball player to come out of Boston, highlights Beaver’s first class of inductees. He is coming home from Kentucky where he served as an assistant for the University of Kentucky basketball team in its run to the NCAA Final Four this year.

Turner’s records at Beaver still stand. He set the boys’ basketball career scoring record with 2,542 points. During his senior year, he was named the Gatorade Player of the Year, a McDonald’s All-American, and a Parade Magazine All-American. He was a three-time [I]Boston Globe[/I] All-Scholastic. At Kentucky, he was a member of two National Championship teams.

Turner also graduated from Kentucky last week.
