I have been trying to stay on top of the Assistant Coaching situation, and it has been a different twist every night. Here is the new twist: Book Richardson. I spoke to Javier Morales of the Tuscon Citizen earlier and he seems to think Richardson probably would be interested in making the trip to Lexington to interview for the open position left by Rod Strickland. You can read Morales’ article here. If you read earlier, you saw that Rick Bozich listed Richardson as second on “his” pecking order of who has the best shot at the job. I have learned this evening Richardson has not been contacted by Kentucky so the ball is in Calipari’s court. Now the reason I am talking about Book so much is there is talk that Kenny Payne has cooled on coming to Kentucky. Payne would take a pretty big pay cut leaving Oregon to be an assistant at Kentucky. As I said earlier, minds can change in a week’s time so it is hard telling what will happen when this is all said and done.

[*]With the news of Darnell Dodson returning to Kentucky, that leaves 3 scholarships available to fill for next season. I am going to take a stab who could fill those, so take it for what it is worth.
[*]Terrence Jones is rumored to be leaning back toward Kentucky. I have heard some talk that he was going to do something tomorrow. Maybe sign a financial aid agreement or something along those lines. I am really about done with Jones, but if he does it I am not going to complain.
[*]Arnett Moultrie has narrowed down his college choices to 2, and that is Texas and Kentucky. Moultrie is a 6’11” wing player who can shoot and play around the rim. I’ve been told he likes to shoot the 3 as well. I wouldn’t be surprised one bit if he transfers to Kentucky this year. That would be scholarship #2.
[*]The last scholly could either go vacant or maybe to Kiel Turpin after Christmas. I am not totally sure, and I am going to investigate further, but for some reason I think Turpin will be eligible to transfer to a D1 school after Christmas. I am not completely sure on this situation, so I will find out for sure before I speculate any further.
[*]I am taking a break from the blog tomorrow and going to watch my first place Cincinnati Reds. Jonny Gomes hit a huge 3 run homer to break the game open as the Reds beat the Brewers 6-3. Homer is pitching tomorrow, and hopefully he pitches as well as he did in his last outing vs. the Pirates.
[*]Remember, this article is a lot of me speculating and just talking about the rumors I am hearing. Take them with a grain of salt. I am going to try my best to see if any of them have legs, and when I do you will be the first I tell. Go Big Blue!!
