View from Section 137: Teague to Kentucky

Kentucky Basketball and the Kentucky Derby are synonymous with excellence. Every top basketball recruit wants to play for the best, which is why the Wildcats are listed on most of their wish lists of hopes of playing in Rupp Arena and winning a national championship. When a horse is a 3 year old, their owner’s dream is to get to Churchill Downs and win the Kentucky Derby. Player and horse, after achieving their aspirations, will be spoke of as a legend for the rest of their lives and beyond. Churchill Downs is the pinnacle of horse racing, just as Rupp Arena is to basketball. Wouldn’t you love to see a new Kentucky legend crowned at the 136th running of the Kentucky Derby and watch it from the coveted box seats at Churchill Downs? All you have to do is answer this question: What day of the week is the Kentucky Derby? Answer the question on The Fayette Alliance Fan Page and you are entered to win! It is that simple! [*]Marquis Teague has went back and forth with his decision probably a million times over the last couple of weeks. I think he has finally decided. Multiple sources are saying Teague is going to join Coach Calipari and the Wildcats when he makes his commitment tomorrow at 1:30.
[*]The next kicker to this story is I heard Louisville thinks they have Teague too. I can’t really get into details but I know for a fact the Louisville coaching staff are under the assumption they are getting the coveted point guard tomorrow. It should be an unbelievable end to and unreal recruiting process between these two in-state arch rivals.
[*]Marcus Thornton also has narrowed down his list recently to 7 teams: Georgia Tech, UGA, Clemson, Alabama, Kentucky, Texas, and Michigan. [*]Jarrod Polson is rumored to have received an invitation to be a preferred walk on at the University of Kentucky. Polson also received some bad news today as he was left off of the Kentucky/Indiana All Star Game roster. A huge surprise that he was not on the team, especially being first team all state.
[*]Evan Daniels of Scout.com said today that Tennessee and Kentucky went by Michael Chandler’s high school today to check him out. Chandler is a top center of the 2011 class who recently decommitted from Louisville.
[*]In closing, I am really looking forward to meeting everyone at the Blue/White game this weekend. At last check , we had 47 confirmed people coming to the game to hang out and tailgate. Make sure if you are coming to the game, look for a bunch of guys with Nation of Blue tshirts on. I am pretty sure that will be us. We plan on being in the blue lot!! Go Cats!!
