I just got back from an early Christmas in Pikeville and while I was gone, Enes was supposed to be free, per Larry Vaught, then Brett Dawson said not so fast my friend. Then of course everyone else forllowed suit and it will be after the holidays until we will find out about our boy from Turkey…well, maybe we will.

Then 5 players from Ohio State decide they were going to act like they don’t know who A.J. Green is from Georgia and they sell a bunch of stuff to get tattoos. Of course, the NCAA continues their gestapo acts by letting them play in the Sugar Bowl and suspend them from 5 games next year. Really? Next year? So, basically, when you are going to bite the hand of the NCAA you will be suspended fo 4 meaningless non conference games and 1 Big 10 game next season. Hey, don’t take away from the bowl ratings and the pockets of the BCS! When is someone going to do something about the way things are being handled right now by the dictatorship of the NCAA?
On to another topic that makes you want to wear a shirt that says SMHNCAA, is the Mississippi State’s Renardo Sidney debacle. If you haven’t heard about that yet, this fine example of a future convict; who already was suspended for a game while on their trip in Hawaii, decided to attack one of his own teammates while sitting in the stands. You can check that out here.

That is a good example of who the NCAA should be granting eligibility to play College Basketball. Maybe Sidney can say he didn’t know he couldn’t fight his teammate in the stands and only get a couple of game suspension..or maybe his Dad didn’t know about it..or heck, maybe they were just fighting over a tattoo. This just all leads back to our favorite Turkish son Enes Kanter.
Why shouldn’t Kanter play? I think everyone would be happy if they would just let him play next year. That is fine with me. This kid, who is the youngest player on the team, has shown more maturity throughout this process in my mind as anyone could. He has sit on the bench dressed in his warm ups, practiced with this team to help them improve. He isn’t trying to whip any of this teammates, or even sell his Kentucky gear for a cool Undertaker tattoo. He is being what everyone wants him to be: A kid that plays at Kentucky. Now NCAA, it is your turn to make that happen. I can promise he won’t do anything that is remotely close to what others I have written about in this article.
In closing, I want to wish every fan of the Nation of Blue a wonderful Merry Christmas. This site would not be possible without the greatest fans in the world, and that is of course the Big Blue Nation. I can’t wait for Dec. 28 when the Cats are back in action vs. Coppin State, and i will be there to bring you all the action. Until then. stay safe and and stay Blue!!
