View from Section 137: Can the Cats Really Do It?

The Cats play at Florida, and this is usually the week I practically go ahead and put the L on the schedule. For some reason, I am having a little hope this week. The line has dropped from 16 points to 13.5 in just a couple of days. After watching Florida play vs. Miami OH and then South Florida, I’ve been thinking the Cats might swoop into the Swamp and steal one. Then the Gators went into Neyland and played a very good second half and took care of the Volunteers. Urban Meyer has been giving all the props he can to the Cats this week and acting like he is worried about Joker’s Kentucky team. Don’t believe a word Meyer is speaking. He is getting his team fired up and trying to make sure they don’t ovelook the Cats this week. If the Cats can play a first half like the second half last week the Cats might pull the upset of a lifetime.. If they play like they did the first half last week it could be a long night of watching something else… Because it could get ugly early in a hurry. I am very excited about the game, and I just hope we have a shot to end this losing streak which dates back to 1986.

John Calipari was in Connecticut yesterday to see the #1 player in the class of 2012 Andre Drummond. Drummond has no list at this time, but my guess Kentucky will surely be on it.

Kentucky is also be said to have offered another top 2012 player Shabazz Muhammad. Muhammad’s AAU coach said that Cal make it known that Shabazz would be a top priority for the class.

Danny Trevathan played the entire second half with a broken hand vs. Akron , and will play the Florida game with a cast. You have to love tough football players, and Trevathan is at the top of the list.

Dick Vitale listed his top Diaper Dandies to keep an eye on and of course, a couple of Cats made the list. Brandon Knight was listed at #3 and Terrence Jones was at #8. He also said that he left Enes Kanter off the list at this time because of questions of his elgibility.

Randall Cobb was asked about Lobstergate after practice yesterday and he said he would probably go back to get some of his favorite cheesy biscuits. The reason he left and went to Cheddar’s was because “I just don’t like people talking bad about my team.” I love how I took a beating for reporting the story, and then multiple other sites reported it later and I am sure nothing was said. I love it actually, and was dying to do something stupid like people do in the facebook comments.. 1st!!!

Quote of the (yester)day is from Bruce Feldman, senior writer at ESPN.com, who called Randall Cobb “The Swiss Army Knife of SEC players.”

I would rather go to Regatta at Lexington Green for seafood anyway.

It should be interesting to see which route Cal goes for the last recruit, or if there are more than one for the 2011 class. I have heard several names, Mike Chandler and Trevor Lacey being the most prevalent. Should be interesting to see how everything plays out….. Go Cats!!
