Terrence Jones’ 25 points and Brandon Knight’s 20 wasn’t enough as the Cats dropped another road game, this time to the Vanderbilt Commodores in Memorial Gym 81-77.
The story of the game was the 3 point shooting of Vanderbilt, which was led by John Jenkins, who was 6-10 from behind the arc and ended up with a career high 32 points. The Commodores were 11-20 as a team for a crisp 55%.
Kentucky never could get on track from behind the 3 point line as they shoot a miniscule 7-23 for a frigid 30%.
The upperclassmen consisting of Josh Harrellson, DeAndre Liggins, and Darius Miller combined for 24 points on 10-26 shooting from the field. The freshman had 53 points on 18-33 from the field.
The upperclassmen are going to have to step up on the road for the Cats to ever having any shot of beating the top teams in the SEC away from Rupp Arena.
Kentucky thankfully comes back home Tuesday to take on Mississippi State. Game is at 7pm and will be on ESPN.
