The CATS missed out on Terrence Jones and C.J. Leslie and are now a late entry into the race for Rice High School’s Kadeem Jack. In the next couple of weeks, the 6′ 9” Jack plans to visit North Carolina and Kentucky.
North Carolina has recently shown interest in Jack after learning the Wear twins (Travis and David) will transfer. The also lose Ed Davis to the NBA draft and Deon Thompson (he graduated). With all of these guys leaving, they’re definitely in need of some bigs (that means big/tall players who play down low 😉 ).
Prior to the recent interest from UNC and UK, Jack was considering a few schools including Arizona and Arkansas.
Here’s waht ZagsBlog.com had to say….

“According to him, he said that he’s going to set up visits with North Carolina and Kentucky,” said South Kent (Conn.) coach Kelvin Jefferson. “He said, ‘Yeah, I’m going to visit Kentucky and North Carolina.’”
Jack wasn’t immediately available for comment Saturday night, but Jefferson had spoken with Jack earlier Saturday.
Jack, who averaged 16.9 points at Rice High School and dropped 24 points and 20 rebounds on Villanova-bound forward JayVaughn Pinkston and Bishop Loughlin in January, has become an attractive option late in the game for the Heels and the Wildcats.

UK is definitely being aggressive about finding a power forward. I’m not sure if Kadeem is going to be a CAT, but I would love to keep North Carolina from getting anything they want/need. After the Gillispie years, they were just a little too close to us in the all-time win category.
UK2K and GO CATS!!
