Normally I wouldn’t take the time to post about a Kentucky recruit taking a visit to another school but this one has the potential to serious affect Uk’s chances with the talented small forward from North Carolina.
There are many reasons to think that T.J. will end up in Kentucky blue. Namely that Kentucky is recruiting Brewster Academy teammates Mitch McGary and Jakarr Sampson. While it is more likely that Jakar and Mitch would be more of a package deal due to the fact that they played together last year as well. For those who don’t believe in package deals, all you have to do is look at Phil Forte and Marcus Smart. The Two have played together for years, and both are heading to Oklahoma State next season.
But I digress. The fact of the matter is that this is one of the most important weekends in recent history for the Wolfpack. The amount of talent assembling on campus for a visit this weekend is impressive. T.J. will be joined by N.C. State commit Tyler Lewis, as well as D’Vauntes Smith-Rivera, and Rodney Purivs. Purvis is set to make his decision tomorrow, and the smart money is that he will end up as the newest member of the Wolfpack.
This is where things get interesting, with two of the top North Carolina prospects already on board for the class of 2012, will T.J. feel pressured to join them? While they are far from being any sort of a package deal, there is a mutual respect between Purvis and Warren, and both are deadly scorers. T.J. has said that he will be attending Big Blue Madness which could be the deciding factor in his recruitment. While he hasn’t narrowed his list down completely yet, I believe it is safe to assume that it will come down to a three team race between N.C. State, Carolina, and Kentucky.
