FanSided.com breaks down the 2010 NBA Draft’s top 10 players and includes rankings of the top 20.
Amazingly, players from the University of Kentucky make up three of the top ten and five of the top twenty players in the field.
In other words, Wildcats makes up one-fourth of the top 20 players that are entered in the draft.
Here is what they say about Wall, Cousins and Patterson and also where the others rank on the list:
1. John Wall, PG, Kentucky – Wall has everything it takes to be a premiere Point Guard in the NBA. He possess great size (6’4), outstanding speed, and is extremely athletic. Wall is great in transition, but still must prove himself in the half court. As a freshman, Wall averaged 16.6 points per game on 50.9% shooting, dished out 6.5 assists, grabbed 4.3 rebounds, and registered 1.8 steals per game.
3. DeMarcus Cousins, C, Kentucky – The 6’11 Center was the most dominate big man in college basketball last season. He scored 15.4 points and grabbed 9.8 rebounds per game. He had the top PER in all of college basketball. His size, length, strength and underrated athleticism could make him an All-Star Center. Cousins does have trouble keeping his focus and is a bit of a hot-head.
10. Patrick Patterson, F, Kentucky – Patterson returned for his Junior season and became somewhat of an afterthought because of Kentucky’s outstanding freshman class. He still managed to score 14.3 points and grab 7.4 rebounds per game. Patterson can step out and hit the three-pointer. He’s a good low post player, but does most of his damage with his back to the basket. He needs work on his face-up game.
13. Daniel Orton, C, Kentucky
20. Eric Bledsoe, PG, Kentucky
