[B]The University of Kentucky track and field team earned eight All-Southeastern Conference selections[/B] including two first team, two second team and four All-SEC freshmen honors for their performances at the 2010 SEC Outdoor Championships, the league office announced.
All-SEC team selections are based off student-athletes performances at the 2010 SEC Outdoor Championships. First-team honors are given to the champion of each event and second-team honors for second position on the podium. All-SEC freshman awards are awarded to the top freshman finisher in each event.
[B]- Rondel Sorrillo -[/B] All-SEC first-team for his SEC Outdoor Championship in the 200-meter dash at LaPorte Stadium in Knoxville, Tenn.
[B]- Colin Boevers -[/B] All-SEC first-team honor was earned by on the heels of his SEC Outdoor Championship in the discus throw.
[B]- Patrick McGregor -[/B] All-SEC second team as well as All-SEC freshmen team honors for his magnificent performance in the 1,500m run with a time of 3:51.57.
[B]- Kristin Smith -[/B] All-SEC second-team honors for their outstanding performances in the discus throw
[B]- Cally Macumber -[/B] Two All-SEC honors for Kentucky as the top freshman in both the women’s 5,000m and 10,000m run
[B]- Darryl Bradshaw -[/B] All-SEC freshmen team; 110m hurdles
The UK track and field team currently is participating at the 2010 NCAA East Regional in Greensboro, N.C.
