UK Loses a Couple of Recruits to Vandy

Friday afternoon, a trio of 2012 recruits from the state of Tennessee shocked the recruiting world in the Southeast.

Caleb Azubike, Cory Batey, and Brian Kimbrow all committed to Vanderbilt.

Azubike and Batey will be three-four star prospects when the finals rankings come out, but Kimbrow’s commitment was the most surprising of all. The 5-foot-9 running back is on of the best ball carriers in the country, ranked as high as the No. 2 overall running back.

While they all had separate quotes, Nation of Blue’s Cody McKee says this is the quote the sums them all up, as the three had something along these lines to say about their college choice:

“The chance to start right away, along with the strong relationships with the coaches is too hard to pass on. And you can’t argue with the academics, either.”

Azubike and Batey were both getting a lot of interest from Kentucky; the staff did offer the two Tennessee stars.

It should be interesting to see which recruits pop for Vandy next. Cody is convinced the Commodores aren’t done yet.
