UK Hoops vs. Ole Miss Tonight at 9

If you’re looking for something on TV tonight, tune in to UK Hoops vs. Ole Miss on FSN at 9:00pm. Coach Mitchell and his Wildcats travel to Oxford and try to extend their SEC winning streak.

The hot-streaking Wildcats have won four in a row after defeating Florida and Vanderbilt last week. Senior and All-American forward Victoria Dunlap led the winning efforts, averaging 14.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 3.0 steals per game. She moved up to No. 2 on UK’s all-time rebounding list, No. 4 on the steals list and needs only two points to climb to No. 4 on the career scoring chart. The Wildcats also relied on the stellar play of freshman Jennifer O’Neill. The point guard came off the bench to score a career-high 15 points in the come-from-behind win at Florida and followed that performance with 10 points and two rebounds vs. Vanderbilt. She was named the SEC Freshman of the Week for those efforts.

Once again this season, defense and Dunlap have been the Cats’ key catalysts. The Cats ranks in the top five of nine SEC statistical categories, including leading the SEC and ranking fourth nationally in turnover margin (+8.4) and leading the league and ranking 27th nationally in steals per game (11.8). Dunlap is the SEC’s leader in scoring (17.4 ppg) and steals (3.4 spg).

• Freshman guard Jennifer O’Neill was named SEC Freshman of the Week after coming off the bench to average 12.5 points in only 21.5 minutes per game during UK’s two wins last week. It marked UK’s second consecutive Freshman of the Week honor as Bernisha Pinkett was named FOW after wins over South Carolina and Mississippi State.
• In the last three SEC wins, UK has scored 81 points off 74 forced turnovers. That’s 27.0 points per game for the Wildcats off turnovers.
• The Wildcats, known for their defensive prowess, have forced double-digit miscues in 67
consecutive games. They are 47-20 during that span, including 20-1 when forcing 25-plus miscues.
• The Cats rank fourth nationally and lead the SEC in turnover margin at +8.5. UK forces a leaguehigh 25.5 turnovers per game while only turning it over 17.1 times per game.
• The Cats rank 27th nationally and lead the SEC in steals per game (11.8). UK has charted
double-digit steals in 12 of 19 games, including a season-high 25 vs. Arkansas Pine-Bluff.
Victoria Dunlap leads the way, ranking fourth nationally and topping the SEC with 3.4 spg.
• Senior All-American Victoria Dunlap is listed in the top four of eight SEC statistical categories and is in the top 10 on 13 career lists at UK. She became UK’s No. 2 all-time leading rebounder vs. Florida and needs only two points to move to No. 4 on the all-time scoring list.
• The Cats are 12-0 in the Matthew Mitchell era when shooting 50 percent or better from the field.
• UK is 125-210 all-time in SEC play, 28-22 under Coach Matthew Mitchell.
• Junior sharp-shooter Keyla Snowden has had quite the shooting touch this season. She currently holds the school record for consecutive games with a 3-pointer (25) and leads the SEC and ranks 12th nationally in 3-point FG percentage (.444).
