UK Hoops is Pretty in Pink to End Losing Streak

UK Hoops was plummeting out of control the last 3 games, all on the road, but all it took was to get back home and change the uniforms.

Really change the uniforms.

The “Play for Kay” event was in Memorial tonight, and the Wildcats wore the honorary pink uniforms and held off a late charging Vanderbilt team 70-61.

Samarie Walker led Kentucky with her first career double-double, 15 points and 12 rebounds, as she was the best player on the floor for most of the night.

Keyla Snowden added 14 points on 4-15 shooting, and Bria Goss netted 12 on 4-10 from the field.

As you can tell, Kentucky didn’t blaze the nets, shooting a below average 37.1%, and only making 5 of 21 from behind the 3 point line, shooting 1-7 in the second half.

Kentucky’s signature defense created 24 turnovers and outrebounded the Commodores 40-29.

It turned out to be a big win for Kentucky as they get back on track a little bit, but my only concern is this team is having a hard time shooting the basketball from the outside.

If it wasn’t for Walker’s presence in the paint, this one could have looked a lot differently.
