University of Kentucky women’s basketball coach Matthew Mitchell has picked up a 2011 commitment from Bria Goss of Ben Davis High School (Ind.).

Goss averaged 15.9 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.2 assists last season.

She visited a Kentucky game to watch South Carolina last season, but fell in love with the Wildcats and decided she wanted to play in Lexington.

When Bria Goss visited the University of Kentucky for a women’s basketball game in February, she was actually there to see the opposing team: South Carolina.

”I was so impressed with the way they played,” said Goss, a 5-10 guard who has been a mainstay on the Giants’ back-to-back undefeated Class 4A state championship teams. “One of the big things I was looking for in a school was that I wanted them to play the same style as Ben Davis: In-your-face defense and a fast pace.”
