As each day passes we get closer and closer to football season, YAY! On the radio today, I heard a discussion about the upcoming football season and what we as fans are worried about the most. Are you nervous about Morgan Newton’s inexperience at quarterback? Maybe you aren’t sure that our wide receiving core is up to par and ready for the challenge of an SEC schedule? How about a new coach on the defensive side that is implementing a brand new scheme?
I can tell you what I am most nervous about, the offense. What has been a bit of a trend in Kentucky football is that our defense may not be up to the challenge but our offense has, for the most part, been able to keep up. Of course that takes into consideration the team had huge playmakers in Randall Cobb and Derrick Locke. This year there is a bit of unknown, which can be exciting and nervewracking at the same time.
It will be interesting to see how this team develops and what kind of identity they develop over the season, but I can tell you that I am looking forward to it, GO BIG BLUE!
