In a matter of a week and a-half, Louisville’s Charlie Strong went from gaining his first commitment of the 2012 class to losing him.
Tyrone Pearson (Class of 2012, Seneca HS, Kent.) committed to Louisville back on February 25th; on Sunday afternoon, he informed Strong that he would be de-committing.
However, Louisville is still not out of the picture.
He just wants to evaluate the other teams that have expressed interest in him and make sure he makes the right decision.
Here is Pearson’s statement on his decision:
I am de-committing from the University of Louisville. I am still highly interested in UoL, but I want to see what everyone else has to offer me. I made my decision off a lot of pressure and rushed into it instead of weighing my options and making a decision.
Pearson mentioned Kentucky, Illinois, Alabama, Arkansas, and Florida State as other teams really showing interest in him in a previous interview I had with him, a couple of days before his commitment to Louisville.
He also mentioned that he will not be doing anything until National Signing Day next year, but who knows.
Joker Phillips has another opportunity to get Pearson, but it’s going to be tough to pry him away from Louisville.
