Looks like I am going to get to see 2 players this Friday that could possibly be the Naismith Player of the Year in Women’s Basketball. This from UK Athletics:

The watch list was compiled by the Atlanta Tipoff Club’s Board of Selectors, which based its criteria on player performances from the previous year and expectations for the 2010-11 college basketball season. The Naismith Trophy presented by AT&T will be awarded on April 4, 2011 at the NCAA Women’s Final Four in Indianapolis.
Dunlap and Mathies are two of seven players chosen from the Southeastern Conference. Joining UK on the list is Tennessee (Angie Bjorklund, Kelley Cain, Shekinna Stricklen), LSU (LaSondra Barrett) and Vanderbilt (Jence Rhoads).

I am indeed going to the opener for UK Hoops this Friday at 11am in Memorial Coliseum. I am really looking forward to my ultimate UK weekend, but I am really excited to see the UK Hoops team. The style of play really entices me and playing Morehead State adds an extra flavor since I am a graduate of the OVC school. Should be a great time!! Look for a live chat from the game with me trying to relay all the action. Go Cats!!
