1. Ryan Mossakowski – After playing only three plays in his short UK career, Ryan Mossakowski will transfer from the University of Kentucky at the end of the Spring semester. Moss stated he was looking for more playing time and even after being told he could compete for the job in the Spring, Ryan opted to transfer anyway. Moss had this to say about his decision, ”It was tough because I love Lexington and I love the fans. But you have to do what’s best for you at the end of the day. It’s tough leaving a place where you put a lot of hard work in.”

For the Cats, this is a tough loss. Newton hasn’t proven to me that he’s the QB of the future. Now with Ryan gone, Newton will obviously be the starter going into 2011 and as of now, Kentucky will be left with two QB’s on the roster.

2. Ricardo Ledo – In another one of those weird recruiting scenes (No comparison to DeAndre Daniels) Providence verbal commit Ricardo Ledo has withdrawn his commitment and will take a look at other options. Ledo is the number 7 overall player in the Class of 2012, and is number 2 at the position of shooting guard. Before Ledo committed to Providence, his top four schools, according to Rivals.com, were Providence, Louisville, Connecticut and Kentucky. With Ledo potentially back in the picture, could it impact the decision of shooting guards Shabazz Muhammad or Archie Goodwin, both hold offers currently from Kentucky.

3. The Polls – The Cats are on the rise in the latest AP and Coaches polls, moving up from number 14 to number 10 in the Associated Press and from 16 to 11 in the Coaches poll. Undefeated Ohio State was the unanimous number one in both polls.

4. Coach Cal Needs Your Help – Coach Calipari is part of the Infinity Coaches Charity Challenge. In what has turned into a head to head competition between Coachj Calipari and Billy Donovan of Florida. The update, as of this writing, has Coach Calipari behind Donovan, 44% to 38%. Time for the Nation to vote. Click the link and vote for our Head Coach.

5. On The Road Again – The Cats are back on the road again this week. This time at Ole Miss and at Florida. Tuesday night is the first challenge of the week as the Wildcats will face off against SEC West rival Ole Miss (13-8, 1-5 SEC) down in Oxford. The game will be televised on ESPNU and is scheduled to tip at 7:00 p.m. ET. On Saturday, the big blue head down to Florida (16-5, 5-2 SEC) to take on the SEC East leading Gators. Odds are this game should determine who will take control of first place in the conference. Win at Florida and Kentucky gains the upper hand. The game will be televised on ESPN in prime time at 9:00 p.m. ET.
