Tough Decision for Trevor Lacey

Trevor Lacey has a decision to make this Spring and I don’t think it is going to be an easy one.

Stay home and play for Alabama or go to Kentucky.

Now don’t get me wrong, there are many other schools other than these two that are recruiting the 4 star shooting guard from defending state champion SR Butler High School in Huntsville, Alabama.

Auburn, Connecticut, Kansas, Georgia Tech, Memphis, Mississippi, Mississippi State, and Tennessee have all offered Trevor according to Scout.com.

I just want to concentrate on the two I think he will end up deciding between: the hometown team and the winningest program in college basketball history.

Kentucky fans are used to getting the players they want, because Coach Cal gets the players he wants. The top recruiting class three straight years is unheard of and I am already taking for granted we will get it every year.

Trevor Lacey could be the next addition to the already heralded 2011 class of Gilchrist, Wiltjer, Teague, and Davis or he could be the headliner for the 2011 Crimson Tide class that already has 4 star and instate product Levi Randolph.

Alabama fans are also dying for Trevor to stay home as I noticed a couple of tweets pleading for him to go to Tuscaloosa. Here is an example:

Dear Trevor Lacey, please come to Alabama. I don’t know that I’ve ever wanted to get a recruit this bad before.

Another Alabama fan was excited that Trevor liked something on facebook.

For anyone who wants positive reinforcement regarding Trevor Lacey’s recruitment, look who liked Coach Brannen’s status: http://goo.gl/rRuns

Kentucky fans might think it is an easy choice for anyone to pick UK, but a kid that is a schoolboy legend in their home state, it might be a little tougher than people think.
