Tipton Prospects doing well at EYBL

We did an article earlier where Coach Cal offered scholarships to Tipton HS prospects Wayne Selden (2014) and Nerlens Noel (2013). Both are playing at the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League and both seem to be impressing the critics.
Wayne Selden (2014, BABC)

Selden easily could have been the leading scorer of the day as he plays on both the U-17 and U-15 teams (he played two games to everyone else’s one). He is an impressive specimen for a player his age and also has a mature game to match. He has a scorer’s mentality and can knock down perimeter shots or power it to the rim. He made a big-time athletic play finishing a two-handed dunk in traffic through contact. The elite schools have already taken notice as the offers are starting to come in. His play this weekend should only intensify the competition.
(source – ESPN)
Nerlens Noel (2013, BABC)

Noel might just be the top prospect at this event. The near 7-footer has always been a force as a shot blocker and rebounder, but on Friday night he displayed an array of offensive skills. On several occasions he ignited fastbreaks by breaking out on the dribble after offensive rebounds. He passed the ball effectively out of the high post and attacked the basket from the perimeter. And was fluid around the basket with his post moves. Playing with a high motor throughout his game, Noel flirted with a quadruple double.
(source – Rivals)
