The July Evaluation Periods

Ahhh, the July Evaluation Periods: the time when college coaches are allowed to actually be present at an AAU game watching a recruit play. Do you know what that means? That means we are going to hear more about the recruits John Calipari is really interested in, the ones he and his staff are going to visit in person… the ones the other D-1 coaches are going to say “…aw crap, Cal is going after this one, we might as well go home…”

You may think that we already have a good idea of who UK is going after, and that is partially true. But July AAU is when new players step up. July AAU is when “nobodies” become “somebodies”. You can expect to see more highlight videos, more profiles, and more personal interviews than probably any other time during the year.

The July Evaluation Periods are from July 6-15 and from July 22-31 (the 16th through the 21st is a dead period).
