The 2009-2010 Kentucky Wildcats brought us a year of excitement with so many great moments, games and memories. From the N.I.T. to the Elite Eight and so much greatness in between; it certainly was a great year for the program, players and fans. Despite not winning the NCAA Championship, winning the SEC Regular Season and Tournament Championships and making it to the Elite Eight is a great season; no doubt about it. Was UK the best?

We all know Duke won the big prize, but does that make them the best team in the nation? I have seen many comments from people saying that regardless of how the tournament ended, UK was the best team of the 2009-2010 season. When I read the comments I am struck with two immediate thoughts: First is that we are Kentucky fans so there is no reason to think anything less than we were the best and Second is that even when I review the year without bias, Kentucky seems to be the best team of the year.
Watching videos such as this one show the talent and athleticism the team had:

But…were we the best of the year, despite not winning the tournament? Is saying “anyone can have a bad game” (WV) just an excuse or would Kentucky have won it all without that one bad game?
