Thank Goodness Devan Downey Graduated

If you remember last year’s game at South Carolina, you remember why Kentucky lost. Two Words. Devan Downey.

Downey was a monster in Colombia as he scored 30 and handed the Cats their first loss of the season 68-62.

Brent Carney of WLEX 18 went exploring and found where Downey was now.

Since his time in Columbia, Downey has taken his talents to Turkey.

He spent the summer trying to catch on with an NBA team and played summer league ball with the Sacramento Kings. He struggled with his shooting – something he never seemed to do against Kentucky – and didn’t prove he had the necessary skills to play point guard in the NBA, either.

From there it was on to play with Antalya Buyuksehir Belediye of the Turkish Basketball League, the top league in Turkey. He’s averaging 12.5 points in six games with the club.

You probably don’t want to watch this..but if we overlook anyone on the road, the same outcome is definitely a possibility.
