Terrence Jones is Healthy and Happy

Terrence Jones may never see an end to the questions about his commitment debacle earlier this season. “I told both coaches that I wasn’t sure, that it was just me trying to get it over with. I wasn’t 100 percent about any school at that time. I knew whatever school I was going to pick that day, I wasn’t going to sign (a binding national letter of intent) with.” It seems as though Calipari was the deciding factor for Jones to come and play at UK.[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]

“The dominating factor for me was pretty much playing under Coach Cal,” Jones said. Jones called Coach Cal just a short while after verbally committing to the Huskies to let him know he wasn’t sure of that decision.

“I handled it wrong the first time,” Jones said. “But I’m glad it happened the way it did, because I had to really think about it. Now I know I made the right decision.”

“The greatest thing now is, he went home (before the start of practice) and said, ‘I can’t wait to get back. I love my teammates. I absolutely picked the right school,’ ” head Coach John Calipari said. “The kid’s happy as heck.”

Terrence Jones sustained an injury early in the first of three exhibition games in Canada and therefore didn’t see much playing time. He also had an ankle injury prior to that which kept him from practicing as hard as he would have liked.

Jones is seemingly healthy now and anxious to formally get his career started as a Wildcat.
