Terrence Jones: Starting or Bench?

Coach Cal has had Terrence Jones on the bench at the beginning of the past 3 games. The results are mixed for those games. Against Auburn, Jones scored 35 points shooting 11-17 from the field including 4-5 from 3-point land. Against LSU he was ice cold. Despite scoring 17 points, he was only 3-12 from the field and 0-2 from 3-point land. Off the bench against Alabama, 5-13 from the field, 0-2 from 3-point and again finished with 17 points.[PRBREAK][/PRBREAK]
It’s pretty safe to say that coming off the bench and scoring 35 points against Auburn had nothing at all to do with not starting and everything to do with an severely over-matched contest. The last two games prove that point.

We all know that Coach Cal isn’t happy with Terrence Jones’ lack of passing. The swear heard around the world earlier this week say’s it all. That move makes today’s decision even more interesting as Coach Cal has worked hard to get the nation get past the event with his public apologies.

Now with game time a few hours away, Coach Cal has to determine where he wants his star freshman at the beginning of the game. It’s really a no-win situation for Coach Cal. If he starts Jones, people will say it’s because of the cussing. If he doesn’t start him, people will say he should have because he cussed him.

It’s Cal’s decision and we’ll see at 6pm.
