Tennessee is Expected to Win…Again…Saturday

As we head into tomorrow’s grudge match with the Tennessee Volunteers, it appears that Kentucky is expected to lose.

Hopefully, the 26th time is a charm, but not many folks outside of Lexington are expecting Kentucky to win in Neyland Stadium.

The outcome of the game will directly impact Kentucky’s bowl destination. A Tennessee win will qualifty the Volunteers for bowl eligibility and send the Wildcats to a low-level bowl.

CBSSports.com projects a Kentucky vs. South Florida matchup in the BBVA Compass Bowl in Birmingham, Alabama. They have Tennessee playing UCF in th Liberty Bowl, which obviously means they expect a Volunteer win on Saturday.

Over at ESPN, Mark Schlabach also has the Wildcats playing USF in Birmingham. Andrea Adelson has Kentucky in the Liberty Bowl against UCF.

Schlabach has Tennessee playing Maryland in the Music City Bowl while Adelson has the Volunteers in the Las Vegas Bowl against Utah.

In other words, the ESPN gurus also expect the Volunteers to win Saturday.

Bodog.com, a sports betting site, has UK slated as 3-point underdogs.

So, there you have it. In a season where Tennessee (5-6) has been borderline terrible, they are still expected to win…gasp…for the 26th consecutive time against Kentucky (6-5).
