Talent Runs Deep In The Newton Family

Apparently the Newton family is a talented group. Morgan’s father is a Doctor, Morgan was a top notch quarterback and now his younger brother, Langston, appears to be drawing attention from some major football programs, but this time it’s from the defensive side of the ball.

Langston, a 6-5, 240-lb defensive end who reports a 4.6 forty yard dash, plays at Carmel High in Indianapolis, Indiana and is beginning to draw some national attention, including that of Kentucky.

Dr. John Newton reports that the interest is coming fast.
”He gets a lot of letters,” Dr. Newton said. “We get something almost every day from Nebraska, Iowa and Kentucky for sure because Morgan’s down there. We’ve gotten stuff in the early part from LSU, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Florida in football and track, Alabama for track, South Carolina.”
Not only is Langston talented on the gridiron, his abilities on the discus ring is well documented as he is a U.S. Track and Field National Champion, so he is being recruited for two sports.

When it comes to recruiting, some of the countries football powerhouses are paying attention.
”Coach Tressel was here from Ohio State. Both he and his brother were in this fall before their bowl game. Notre Dame has been in here as well.”
As far as upcoming visits, Dr. Newton said they have been officially invited to Kentucky so they could have a change of plans, but they see him every weekend, so they know Langston very well.
