A couple of weeks removed from being eliminated from the Rodney Purvis contention, John Calipari and his staff are back and recruiting in the city of Raleigh, North Carolina.
The newest target is 6-foot-6 small forward T.J. Warren.
Warren, a rising senior from the prestigious Word of God Christian Academy (Raleigh, North Carolina), is also the teammate of former Kentucky-target Torian Graham.
Warren said by text Sunday that “(Kentucky) wants him to come up for a visit” soon, and when asked if the interest from UK was starting to pick up, he acknowledged that it was.
The prolific scorer started the spring on an impressive note, as he dropped huge points on the AAU circuit, thus noting many colleges getting involved in his recruitment.
While other top-notch programs have inquired about him, Warren really seems to like NC State and what the Wolfpack have to offer up to this point. Mark Gottfried has pushed the bar hard for recruiting Warren and Purvis since he was hired a few months ago.
It will be tough for the UK staff to pull Warren away from NC State and other schools, but with this dynamic scorer, anything could be possible.
